About Us

12 Step Recovery Gifts was originally founded by Peter and lovingly reopened in 2023 by Claudia Contos after the business had to close in 2020 due to the coronavirus restrictions. Today, we are grateful to breathe new life into this project together and continue its mission with renewed purpose.

Recovery is deeply personal to us. Claudia lost her father as a result of alcoholism, and Peter is an addict on his own path of recovery. These experiences shape everything we do. Professionally, Claudia works as an educator, providing a home for children and helping guide them toward a stable and meaningful future. Supporting growth, healing, and new beginnings is not only our work — it is our calling.

Our heartfelt desire is to accompany people on their journey of recovery. We want to offer beautiful, meaningful, and unique items that honor cleantime, celebrate milestones, and make thoughtful gifts for friends in recovery. Peter manages the business and is responsible for many of the designs, bringing both creativity and lived experience into each piece.

We are committed to continually improving our products and service. Your feedback is important to us and helps us grow, refine our offerings, and better serve the recovery community.

Currently, we produce a small portion of our collection ourselves. We work closely with partners who value sustainability, social responsibility, and humanity. Our jewelry is crafted in a Fair Trade company in India, as well as by a goldsmith friend who is also walking the path of recovery. Peter personally creates our gemstone jewelry.

Through long-standing relationships with trusted producers, we are also able to create custom items for events, including products with your logos or slogans at competitive prices.
